"La araña negra, t. 6/9" by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez is a novel written in 1892. This serialized work tells the story of the Baselga family, Spanish nobility whose lineage traces back to Reconquista heroes. Set in early nineteenth-century Spain, the novel follows how the Jesuit Order patiently weaves a web to seize the family's fortune. Blasco Ibáñez later disowned this youthful work, excluding it from his complete works due to its harsh criticism of the Jesuits.
