
The Grecian Daughter
"The Grecian Daughter" by Arthur Murphy is a tragedy written in 1772. Set in ancient Sicily, the play follows Euphrasia, a devoted daughter whose father, King Evander, has been imprisoned by the tyrant Dionysius. While her husband and infant son have fled, Euphrasia risks everything to save her starving father through extraordinary means. As military forces gather to liberate Syracuse, she must navigate deadly schemes and face impossible choices that will determine the fate of her family and kingdom.
