Uit het leven van Dik Trom
"Uit het leven van Dik Trom" by Cornelis Johannes Kieviet is a children's book first published in 1891. The story follows Dik Trom, a mischievous Dutch boy whose character broke from the typical well-behaved heroes of nineteenth-century children's literature. Set in a small village inspired by the author's own experiences as a teacher, the book portrays a plump, playful protagonist who gets into trouble but also does good deeds. His unconventional nature made him an iconic figure in Dutch children's literature.
