This pioneering work chronicles the early English colonial efforts in North America and Bermuda under the London Company's administration. Written after Smith's controversial departure from Virginia, the book draws on both his experiences and others' accounts of events he didn't witness. The work includes the famous—and possibly embellished—story of Pocahontas saving Smith's life, a tale he had never mentioned before this publication.
